LEAD TEACHER 

Park Slope Schoolhouse is seeking to hire a Lead Teacher for our three-year-old classroom.  The candidate should have experience leading a group of children with passion, intentionality, and enthusiasm.  Park Slope Schoolhouse follows a developmentally appropriate curriculum, rich with emotionally responsive support.  

Responsibilities: 

Overall planning and supervision of the classroom.

Observe, document, and evaluate the children’s development to find ways to support each child.

Implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum with engaging, open-ended activities.

Lead weekly team meetings.

Lead parent-teacher conferences.

Communicate regularly with families through email, a school app, phone, and in-person.

Plan and execute special projects and/or events.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education (or currently in a Master’s program). 

NY State teacher certification (or a plan for certification).

At least one year of classroom experience in an early childhood setting.

Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Warm, nurturing demeanor with the ability to connect with both children and adults.

Positive attitude, collaborative nature, and eagerness to learn.

Compensation

$55,000 – $65,000 (depending on level of education and experience)

100% Health benefits covered (incl. medical, dental, vision)

32 PTO days per year

3 weeks paid vacation
